How should I lock my ebike?
The #1 reason Dance bikes get stolen is because they aren’t locked properly. If your bike gets stolen when it isn’t securely locked, you could pay a deductible of up to €2000.
So here’s how to keep your ride safe and secure:
Lock it to a solid, unmoving object that the lock can’t be lifted over.
Always lock through the frame. For maximum security, put the lock through the frame and the rear wheel. If the chain lock is loose, wrap it around itself or another part of the bike to tighten it.
Avoid locking your bike to objects that are weaker than the lock and could be cut, like wire fences.
Make sure the fit is tight and the lock isn’t too loose or lying on the ground.
Never put your lock around the seat post. Your bike will not be secured at all.
Fully scramble the combination. It may be quicker to change one or two digits, but thieves are wise to this, and it’s one of the most common ways bikes get stolen.
Remove accessories—especially the battery—when you leave your bike for more than a short time. If stolen, you’ll be charged for replacements. Accessories should always be removed when leaving your bike overnight.
And if you want to ride with 100% peace of mind, you can switch to the extra protection for €9.99/month.
Always remove the battery from your ebike to avoid a theft!
The theft or loss of the battery is not covered by the extra protection.
